Marking 30 years since the Srebrenica tragedy, Duchess Sophie carried out a series of powerful engagements, remembering the victims of the tragic events in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Arriving in Sarajevo, on Thursday, July 10, the 60-year-old Duchess of Edinburgh began her important and meaningful diplomatic visit.

Her Royal duties commenced with a meeting at the Presidency building with Željko Komšić, a Croat member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Commemorating the darkest chapter in modern European history, the visit honours the memory of  8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys who had lost their lives in the the 1995 genocide.

During her diplomatic trip, Sophie donned an elegant and classic Prada polka dot dress, an outfit she had also previously worn to King Charles's pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace in December.

Priced at £3,500, the 'Georgette' style dress highlighted a flattering fitting silhouette, sharp collar, and detail button accents.

She accessorised the ensemble with chic neutral toned pumps with a matching envelope clutch.

The Duchess styled her hair in a simple low bun, which brought her gold hoop earrings and matching necklace into focus.

Her visit to Bosnia comes after a busy schedule of notable Royal engagements, having also attended the State Banquet at Windsor Castle honouring French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte.

However, her trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina stands as a symbol of reconciliation and serves as a reminder of the dangers of divisions and intolerance.

During her visit, Sophie will also meet with mothers  affected by this tragedy and endured the heartbreaking loss of their sons, husbands and fathers.
