Lewis Capaldi made a comeback at Glastonbury in June 2025

Lewis Capaldi recently recalled the horrific incident that took place at the backstage of one his concerts, right after the Glastonbury 2023 performance.
In an appearance on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, aired on Tuesday, July 15, the 28-year-old crooner reflected on the difficult moments of his musical career that led him to realise he needed to seek help.
For the unversed, Capaldi made headlines in 2023 following his struggles at the Glastonbury gig, as he was unable to complete his set due to his Tourette’s diagnosis.
According to Mayo Clinic, Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by repetitive, stereotyped, involuntary movements and vocalizations called tics.
However, the Someone You Loved singer shared that after the musical festival, he had an incident at a concert in Chicago that was "even worse."
"I couldn’t come back on stage and finish the song," Capaldi said, adding, "I was like, backstage, convulsing and having this crazy panic attack, mental episode. It was really, really bad. It was the first time people at my shows had seen it."
Elsewhere in the podcast, the Before You Go singer also discussed the decision to take a brief hiatus from music in 2023 after struggling with mental health issues.
"When it happened and when it was happening, it was, like, the lowest moment of my life, and it was horrible," he reminisced.
Capaldi added, "I had this moment where I was on stage like two, three songs in. I was like, ‘This is the last time I’m going to play a gig for a long time. I need to try and get through the rest of the show, but when I come off, I’m done.'"
In the latest development, Lewis Capaldi returned to Glastonbury in June 2025 after taking a two-year break from music.
