With a new man by her side, Ellie Goulding channels the pain of her past relationship into her latest project, teasing her most vulnerable album to date, filled with deeply emotional lyrics which she calls the "saddest words" she has ever penned, marking a new chapter of her life.

On Thursday, the 38-year-old English singer and songwriter shared on Instagram that her upcoming songs, which she has been working on 'for so long,' might be influenced by the emotional weight of her previous relationship struggles.

After her split from her art-dealer husband Caspar Jopling, parting ways in February 2024, and is now focused on co-parenting their five-year-old son with Arthur.

Marking the five year anniversary of another album Brightest Blue, the Love Me Like You Do hitmaker, in her carousel post on the social media platform, hinted that her upcoming album might become fans’ 'new favourite.'

In the comments of her own post, Ellie wrote, "If you guys liked this album I fear the next might be your new favourite, been working on it for so long."

Continuing, "Guitars, bass, strings, harmonies for days, saddest words I ever wrote, best writers and musicians in the world (I am so lucky) and refusing to sound like anything else out there lol… It’s going to be interesting for sure."

Fans also rushed to the comments expressing their love and excitement over their favourite singer getting vulnerable in her next album and praised her for her past work.

This update comes shortly after Ellie was reportedly seen hanging out with her new boyfriend at a weekend boxing event.

According to The Sun, the Burn singer is reportedly romantically linked with Beau Minniear.
