Stephen Colbert recently slammed the President of U.S., Donald Trump, following the sudden announcement of the end of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

For the unversed, CBS has announced it will cancel the show after running for 10 years, citing a "financial decision" and not due to any issues with ratings or show content.

It is worth noting that Colbert has been part of the show since September 2015, which will officially conclude in May 2026.

In a recent development, during the first show back on air since the announcement, the 61-year-old host lashed out at Trump for his remarks.

"I absolutely love that Colbert got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings," the President commented on Colbert’s departure from the show on Friday, July 18.

"How dare you, sir? Would an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism? Go (expletive) yourself," the host and comedian said in his Monday, July 21 monologue, in a clip shared before the episode's airing.

Colbert’s message was captured via an eloquence cam that was zoomed into his face.

However, the sudden announcement comes just days after Stephen Colbert criticised the network for paying a $16 million settlement in the president Donald Trump lawsuit.

This had led many to speculate whether The Late Show With Stephen Colbert's cancellation was influenced due to its host's recent political stance.
