Adam Sandler reveals real reason for reviving 'Happy Gilmore'
'Happy Gilmore 2' is set to be released on July 25

Adam Sandler has finally shared the real reason why he is bringing back Happy Gilmore, nearly three decades after the original film.
In an interview with Good Morning America, the 58-year-old actor and comedian revealed that there was constant pressure from fans asking for a sequel.
Sandler recalled, "When I walk down the street a lotta times people say, 'You ever gonna do Happy Gilmore 2?'" (Sic)
"And for 28 years, I was like, 'What are you talking about? No.' And then all of a sudden, I was like, 'Maybe'... people kept asking. And then it just felt right," the Just Go with it actor continued.
The storyline of the forthcoming project revolves around Happy, played by Sandler, returning to a golf course after a long break from the sport.
However, upon his return, he has to face new obstacles.
Happy Gilmore 2 features a star-studded cast, with many reprising their roles from the original, including Ben Stiller, Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald and Dennis Dugan.
Discussing his character, the Big Daddy performer shared, "His life isn't perfect right now – at least at the beginning of the movie. And he's a family man, and he's gettin' back into the golf game."
Towards the end, Sandler fondly stated, "I don't know how it happened. We wrote 'em stuff and everybody was kind enough to come. And everybody in it did a great job. Every day someone cool would show up and we'd hang out."
It is worth noting that Happy Gilmore 2, starring Adam Sandler, is slated for a release in cinemas on July 25, 2025.
