Nick Jonas recalled the time when his older brother Joe Jonas helped him diagnosed his health issues.

The Jonas Brothers appeared on Penn Badgley's podcast Podcrushed on Thursday, July 24, where they reflected on their journey to fame and shared how Nick's health issues started during a school tour in 2006.

The father-of-one said that his brother Joe helped him in the diagnoses of type 1 diabetes when he was 13.

“I started losing a ton of weight and you know, drinking a ton of water, use the bathroom all the time, all the signs now that I know are symptoms of type 1 diabetes,” Nick told.

He added, “I had no idea. I just knew that I wasn't feeling well and was losing all this weight, it's actually a testament to the lack of information and awareness there was around type 1 at this time.”

Nick recalled a trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he and 16-year-old Joe visited a pool.

Joe noticed something was wrong with Nick's back and called their parents to tell, "Something's really wrong, you need to come here."

The host of the show Penn asked him, “Cause you're so skinny?”

To which Joe jokingly responded, "So skinny?", Kevin chimed in Nick's body was so thin that "you could see every bone."

Joe added, “I was feeling just awful. And anyway, so I went to the doctor and normal glucose should be between 70 to 120 for a person not living with type 1 diabetes.”

Nick Jonas thanked his "great doctors" for getting him back on stage quickly, noting he was hospitalised for a few days and performing again within a week.
