Grok introduces auto mode for smarter, adaptive AI responses

Elon Musk has announced a significant upgrade to Grok, the AI chatbot developed by xAI, introducing a new "auto mode" designed to enhance how the bot processes and responds to queries.

This update is part of a broader set of enhancements aimed at making Grok more user-friendly and powerful.

The update allows Grok to automatically adjust the depth of its reasoning based on the complexity of the user's question.

The auto mode is currently live on the web platform, with mobile support expected soon.

The tech billionaire confirmed on his official X (formerly Twitter) account that smartphone access will be rolled out shortly.

Despite the automation, users can still manually select their preferred level of thinking if they want more control over how Grok handles their query.

Grok users now benefit from simplified feedback reporting, allowing them to flag issues more easily.

Additionally, a new "kids mode" has been introduced, enabling guardians to secure the chatbot behind a PIN or facial recognition lock.

Grok now operates through a unified framework offering four reasoning modes: Auto, Fast, Expert, and Heavy. The Fast mode delivers quick responses for simple questions.

However, the Expert mode, powered by Grok 4, provides more detailed insights, while Heavy mode, designed to function like a team of experts, is available exclusively to SuperGrok Heavy or X Premium+ subscribers.
