A bit of background: from Zootopia the original

When Zootopia first came out in 2016, no one expected it to be that good. But it turned out to be more than just a kids’ movie. It was packed with wittiness, emotional drama, and heartfelt scenes, wrapped in a buddy-cop story with real themes about prejudice, ambition, and trust.
The movie followed Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin), a determined little bunny who becomes the first rabbit cop in a city full of much bigger animals. She teams up with Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman), a slick fox with a shady past, to solve a case about missing predators, and what they uncover is way bigger than either of them expected.
Critics loved it, audiences loved it, and the numbers don’t lie. Zootopia cost around $150 million to make but earned more than $1 billion globally.
That’s a massive hit for Disney. It even won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature, and let’s not forget that catchy song from Shakira 'Try Everything' that also played a crucial part in the success of the movie as a theme song.
When will it be released?
Zootopia 2 will be released on November 26, 2025, right on Thanksgiving weekend. That’s a smart move from Disney, since the original movie also did great during a holiday run. It’s the best time for families to head to the cinema and watch the movie.
The Zootopia 2 trailer has exceeded fans' expectations: it's funny, heartfelt, and packed with new surprises. The chemistry between Judy and Nick remains strong, and the introduction of quirky new characters adds to the excitement.
