From Lady Gaga to Julia Roberts: Celebrities who found love beyond the red carpet
Top Hollywood celebrities including Lady Gaga, and several others have found love outside of the glamorous showbiz industry

Hollywood star’s love stories often unfold between co-stars, musicians, and fellow celebrities. But some stars have chosen to look beyond the style and glamour of the showbiz industry for their happily-ever-after.
From successful business executives to everyday professionals, these relationships prove that true love doesn’t need a red carpet.
Here’s a look at Hollywood celebrities who tied the knot with partners outside the industry.
1. Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky:

Pop icon Lady Gaga recently got engaged to Michael Polansky, a financier and longtime business associate of Facebook’s first president, Sean Parker. Though Polansky moves comfortably among the famous, he’s not a performer, which makes their relationship a perfect blend of Hollywood glamour and grounded real-world energy.
In March 2025, Gaga shared how she knew Polansky was ‘the one’ during an appearance on Good Morning America.
“He just loves the whole me,” she said. “I learn a lot from him. He’s so supportive. He’s got an incredibly kind heart. He’s my best friend. Being in a partnership with your best friend I feel like is a huge blessing. I couldn’t imagine going through life with anyone but him, honestly.”
2. Taylor Lautner and Taylor Dome:

Taylor Lautner began dating Taylor Dome, who is a registered nurse and mental Health professional. It was actually Lautner’s sister, Makena Moore, who set him up with Dome and the two got married in 2022.
"My sister Makena actually introduced us," he told PEOPLE. "She called me and said, 'Dude, I found your future wife. You need to meet this girl.' And the rest is history."
In January 2022, he shared to the same outlet, “I wanted to take a step back, enjoy life, and spend some time with my family and friends. And I met my fiancée through that, so it all worked out.”
Both Lautner and Dome have been vocal about their relationship milestones on social media and even launching a podcast together called The Squeeze.
3. Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney:

Jennifer Lawrence married Cooke Maroney, a New York-based art gallery director, in 2019. The two were introduced by a mutual friend.
Lawrence explained on the Naked with Catt Sadler podcast, "I definitely wasn't at a place where I was like, 'I'm ready to get married. "
"I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other, we wanted to commit fully."
Back in 2019 a source told People, "He's a great guy. He's smart and funny and I think really keeps her on her toes and he doesn't treat her like a celebrity like the other boyfriends did. He's definitely the coolest guy she's dated. [He's] not affected by Hollywood."
The couple has always kept their love life private and rarely appeared on the red carpet together.
They share two children, a son named Cy, born in February 2022, and a second child born in March 2025.
4. Julia Roberts and Danny Moder:

Julia Roberts married Danny Moder who is a cinematographer, in 2002. The pair met on the set of the 2001 film The Mexican and later tied the knot in a private ceremony.
"He sorted his whole thing out, separate and apart from me," Roberts later told Oprah. "And I sorted my life out, separate and apart from him. I think that's the only reason we were able to ultimately fall in love with each other and be together."
They have three children together, twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, and Henry.
The couple has always kept their personal life out of the public eye, "We try to protect our kids," the Pretty Woman star told USA Today in 2013. "We just want to have our family life and not have that intruded upon."
5. Jon Stewart and Tracey McShane:

Jon Stewart met Tracey McShane, who was then a veterinary technician, on a blind date at a Mexican restaurant in 1996, just one month after Stewart was fired from his show on MTV.
According to People, Stewart's mutual friend told him, "I know this girl who I think you would very much like" and described Tracey "in such glowing terms."
"I thought, well, 'I'd be a jackass not to go out with this woman,'" recalled Stewart.
However, The Daily Show alum revealed that he lost her number after initially writing it down. "I wrote her number on a dollar bill. And this was when I still smoked, so I went and bought cigarettes with the thing," he said before admitting, "I lost her number. I didn't call for a while."
Somehow, Stewart got Tracey's number and the two went on their first date.
McShane has committed her life and career to rescuing animals and has enlisted Stewart to join her in the initiative since he stepped out from behind the Daily Show desk.
In February 1999, Stewart proposed to McShane through The New York Times, having enlisted the newspaper’s crossword puzzle editor who aided in the creation of a crossword puzzle filled with clues leading to the proposal.
These top Hollywood stars have proved that love has no boundaries and it can be found anywhere be it on a blind date or via a mutual friend.
