5 Actors who are not shying away from playing Batman

Since taking the reins at DC Studios, co-chairman and filmmaker James Gunn has executed a complete overhaul of the company’s superhero entertainment.

Starting with the latest Superman film, new franchise entries have been announced for other beloved caped crusaders as well.

One of them is Batman — the ultimate Dark Knight.

A top choice for many aspiring as well as seasoned actors, Batman is one superhero who is revered for his mature and dark storylines, and thus always makes for an interesting cinematic offering.

While Robert Pattinson was the last actor to don the iconic black suit and a sequel to his Batman movie still remains in the mix, Gunn and DC are vying for a different artist to headline their Gotham superhero’s theatrical vehicle, which is titled The Brave and the Bold at the moment.

Reportedly, this adaptation will feature a more mature Batman in terms of age and may be a couple of years older than the studio’s Superman.

Several names have been rumoured as choices who could be the next to take up the mantle, while some of them have already opened up about these rumours as well as their desire to play Batman.

Whether addressing news sources or fan casting, following is a list of names who have publicly thrown their hats in the ring:

Jensen Ackles

Jake Gyllenhaal

Glen Powell
