Born Pichai Sundararajan in Madurai, India, in 1972, he grew up in a modest household where luxuries like television and personal computers were out of reach.

Despite that, his sharp intellect and relentless drive helped him rise through the ranks of Silicon Valley to become the CEO of Google in 2015 and later the CEO of Alphabet Inc., Google’s parent company, in 2019.

Pichai’s academic journey is as impressive as his career. He earned a Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical Engineering from the prestigious IIT Kharagpur before moving to the US for further studies.

He completed his Master’s degree in Material Sciences and Engineering at Stanford University, followed by an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he was named a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar.

3. His Google interview was on April Fool’s Day
