You won't believe some of the A-list celebrities, who slayed in acting, singing, doing a ramp walk, are secretly struggling with anxiety.
Sadly, this common mental health issue also affects celebrities.
Many stars such as Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, and Lady Gaga have spoken out about their struggles with anxiety, helping to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health issues.
Here are the Hollywood's most famous celebrities who struggled with anxiety and got real about their mental health struggles:
1. Emma Stone

The La La Land star, who is one of the iconic Hollywood actresses, dealt with numerous panic attacks to the point where she developed agoraphobia.
Stone got her first panic attack in her 20s and has also talked about her struggles with anxiety, especially as a child.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, the 36-year-old actress said that she’d ask her mother to explain exactly how the day was supposed to go because she wanted to make sure no one was going to die and that her life would stay the same.
According to the Poor Things performer, she did get therapy for her anxiety and it was her participation in theater that helped her move past the panic attacks.
2. Kristen Stewart

Stewart opened up on the struggles of being a young woman in the public eye during the early aughts during an interview with Rolling Stone in 2024.
The Twilight actress, while trying to navigate finding her own identity under a male gaze-centric made her anxiety worst.
“They were like, ‘She’s dehydrated.’ I was like, ‘I’m not dehydrated. I’m fucking flipping out,” the Spencer actress said.
Stewart added, “We make choices every fucking day about who we’re going to be. Not in a controlling way, but just in a way that acknowledges, ‘This is who I am. It’s the easiest one. It’s the one that’s the most comfortable. It’s the one I’ve chosen.’”
3. Johnny Depp

Despite doing lovable character and successful career, Depp couldn’t skip the phase where he suffered from panic attacks for years.
In an interview, the Pirates of the Caribbean star noted, “I don't go out very much. I stay at home a lot. Or when you go out to eat, you know, you've got to - it becomes a strategic sort of plan.”
4. Adele

Even one of most famous singers in the world appears to have suffered from not only panic attacks but also social phobia and stage fright, means nervousness before or during an appearance before an audience.
The British singer, at one point, had to quit touring as she found the anxiety and panic unbearable.
The Rolling in the Deep singer eventually started touring again, but brought her therapist with her on the road to help her cope.
5. Selena Gomez

Gomez, who is a vocal celebrity with anxiety and depression, has been open about her struggles.
The 33-year-old songstress admitted to “freaking out” when she reached 100 million followers on Instagram and took time away from social media.
However, this did not stop the fiancée of Benny Blanco as she most recently announced the launch of a mental health platform called WonderMind to connect people with educational resources related to mental health issues.
The Love You Like A Love Song songstress dedicated a large portion of her career to the issue of mental health and has also worked to help others facing similar challenges find support.
“I don’t feel good all the time,” Gomez recently told Vogue, adding, “She reminds me of a perspective in life that can be a bit simpler and pure. Even just having a moment with her makes me feel better.”
6. Ryan Reynolds

Despite being the funny humorous actor of Hollywood, Reynolds has been honest about a lifelong struggle with anxiety.
During an interview in 2018, the Deadpool & Wolverine actor said that he would actually conduct interviews in character to alleviate the anxiety he was experiencing.
7. Billie Eilish

Since 2017, Eilish has been a fierce mental health advocate!
“Depression has controlled sort of like everything in my life,” the Bad Guy hitmaker told Zane Lowe during an interview on Apple Music’s Beats 1.
The songstress added, “For my whole life, I’ve kind of always been a melancholy person. ”
The 23-year-old singer was once asked about unending exposure during a recent interview with Allure, where she shared a characteristically honest take, saying, “I’m starting to do better, but I’ve not been doing so great, to be honest. For a while. I have impending-doom feelings most of the day. When I think too much about it, how I can never have privacy again, it’s enough to make you want to do all sorts of crazy things. But you have to let it go.”
8. Hailey Bieber

The wife of Justin Bieber once took to her Instagram Stories and shared her own struggle, saying. “I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it’s easier than admitting I’m having a hard time.”
The model went on to say, “But truthfully since 2023 started I have had some of the saddest, hardest moments I’ve ever had in my adult life and my mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least. And I know so many other people feel the way I feel, so just know you’re not alone.”
9. Justin Bieber

The Baby crooner has always been candid about the realities of mental health hygiene which led him to cancel his Justice World Tour.
In an interview with Vogue in 2019, Bieber spoke about why he had to cancel 14 dates of his Purpose tour back in 2017. “I got really depressed on tour,” he explained.
“I haven’t talked about this, and I’m still processing so much stuff that I haven’t talked about. I was lonely. I needed some time.” The Sorry crooner said, adding, “I found myself doing things that I was so ashamed of, being super-promiscuous and stuff, and I think I used Xanax because I was so ashamed.”
According to the That Should Be Me singer, drugs put a screen between him and what he was doing.
10. Ariana Grande

Grande’s two albums Sweetener and Thank U, Next carried a lot of emotional weight for the singer and in a recent podcast interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Wicked actress did open up about making music after experiencing two major tragedies in her life; the 2017 bombing at her Dangerous Woman Tour in Manchester and Thank You Next followed the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.
While crediting therapy for helping her get through her grief, anxiety, and depression, the 7 Rings songstress said, “I was doing so much therapy, and I was dealing with PTSD and all different kinds of grief and depression and anxiety.”
Grande went on to say, “And, I was, of course, treating it very seriously, but having music be a part of that remedy was absolutely contributing to saving my life.”
