Meet the world’s youngest tech billionaires shaping the future

Nearly three-quarters of global billionaires are between 50 and 79 years old, while only 12% are under 50 years old.

Even rarer are those who achieve billionaire status before the age of 30. Among them, a handful of tech entrepreneurs stand out for building groundbreaking companies at remarkably young ages.

Alexandr Wang

Net Worth: $5.1 billion

At only 28, Alexandr Wang is the world’s youngest self-made tech billionaire. A college dropout from MIT, he co-founded Scale AI, a startup now acquired by Meta, specialising in data labeling and model evaluation for artificial intelligence systems.

First achieving billionaire status in 2021, Wang returned to the Forbes list in 2025 after Scale AI’s valuation hit $13.8 billion.

Beyond his startup, he is now chief AI officer at Meta, leading its ambitious “superintelligence” projects.

Palmer Luckey

Net Worth: $2.5 billion

At age 32, Palmer Luckey first made waves by creating the Oculus Rift, a headset that ignited the virtual reality revolution.

After selling Oculus VR to Facebook in 2014 for $2 billion, he went on to found Anduril Industries, a defense technology firm developing advanced surveillance systems.

Andy Fang

Net Worth: $1.5 billion

Another 32-year-old, Andy Fang, is the co-founder of DoorDash, the food delivery giant born out of a Stanford class project in 2013.

As Chief Technology Officer, Fang played a central role in building the platform’s infrastructure.

Melanie Perkins

Net Worth: $7.6 billion

Australian entrepreneur Melanie Perkins, now 37, co-founded Canva in 2012, transforming graphic design into an accessible, easy-to-use tool for individuals and businesses.

Achieving billionaire status at 32, Perkins has grown Canva into a platform valued at over $40 billion, with hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

Daniel Ek

Net Worth: $9.2 billion

At 42, Swedish innovator Daniel Ek remains one of the youngest billionaires in the tech world.

He co-founded Spotify in 2006, changing the way the world consumes music.

With more than 140 million paying subscribers, Spotify’s success solidified Ek’s place among the top tech visionaries of his generation.

Mark Zuckerberg

Net Worth: $259.2 billion

At 40, Zuckerberg is still one of the youngest billionaires on the planet. He launched Facebook (now Meta) at just 19, and today the company serves nearly 3 billion users globally.

With Meta valued at over $1.8 trillion, Zuckerberg tops the list as the wealthiest of the young tech elite.
