Cillian Murphy joins 'Peaky Blinders’ sequel, but with a new role

Peaky Blinders is making a comeback, with Cillian Murphy once again stepping into the world of the Shelbys.

Creator Steven Knight confirmed he is developing a new series set after the Second World War, and Murphy is attached to the project as an executive producer. 

While casting and further details remain under wraps, fans can expect Birmingham to be at the centre of the action once again.

A first plot description teases a city “building a better future out of concrete and steel” after heavy bombing during the war. 

The reconstruction becomes a fierce battle, with rival powers vying for control in what Knight describes as a contest of “mythical dimensions.”

Knight revealed the story will follow a new generation of the family as they look to dominate Birmingham’s future. Each season will be made up of six episodes.
