King Charles orders royal artefacts taken back from Andrew’s home?
King Charles removed Andrew's Royal titles
In another Royal blow to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, the Royal artefacts that line the walls of Royal Lodge will be returned to King Charles.
Back in 2011, the 65-year-old posted a job listing for a cleaning role in Royal Lodge, requiring duties such as making beds, preparing baths, and delicately dusting “objets d’art” and “picture frames under advice from the royal collection”.
After losing his titles, the former Duke of York’s treasured “objets d’art” will be handed back to the Royal Collection Trust when he moves out of his 30-room residence.
The Royal Collection Trust oversees one of the world’s largest and most valuable art collections, built and preserved by generations of British monarchs.
Pieces from the collection appear not only in public exhibitions but also throughout royal homes, with Royal Lodge among the properties they adorn.
Although the Royal Collection doesn’t reveal where specific works are stored, many high-value items are thought to be inside Andrew’s residence.
But among the prized artworks believed to be in the mansion is a 19th-century portrait of Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III, created by artist Charles Édouard Boutibonne.
According to GB News, a royal source shared that the paintings and artefacts will be reclaimed by Royal Collection Trust (RCT), leaving Andrew, King Charles’ younger brother, unable to keep or take any of the pieces along with him to his new home on Sandringham estate.
