Showing his utmost support, Prince Edward joined his niece Princess Beatrice at St James’s Palace on Thursday evening, November 6, 2025.

At the ceremony, the 37-year-old member of the British royal family was officially named Deputy Patron of Outward Bound.

Dedicated to inspiring youth through wilderness challenges, the charity hosted the Princess and her uncle the Duke of Edinburgh, as he took on the role of Royal Patron.

The new roles continue a royal tradition that goes back to Prince Philip, who supported Outward Bound as Patron for more than six decades from 1953 until 2019.

The gathering on Thursday brought together charity members and supporters to mark the announcement of new royal patronages.

Beatrice’s involvement with the organisation dates back six years, having served as a trustee from 2019 through 2025.

During the event, two 18-year-old students from Walsall Academy opened up about their life-changing experience from a Lake District expedition.

The Princess was presented with a Celtic brooch, which stands as a symbol for unity and good fortune. Meanwhile, Prince Edward was offered a rowan tree sapling, representing resilience and courage.

This Royal engagement comes after King Charles officially stripped Princess Beatrice’s father Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's Prince title due to his alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

The official Letters Patent confirmed the change and has now appeared in The Gazette, United Kingdom’s official public record.
