'Avengers' star Jeremy Renner faces intense scrutiny following harassment allegations

Jeremy Renner has landed in hot water after a co-star made disturbing allegations against him.

On Friday, November 7, a Chinese filmmaker, Yi Zhou, revealed to Daily Mail that the 54-year-old Marvel actor threatened her to "call ICE" when she began dating him last month.

The 37-year-old director further shared that Renner sent her "unsolicited disturbing images featuring himself," without her prior consent.

According to Zhou, the pair collaborated on the documentary Chronicles of Disney and the animated film Stardust Future: Stars and Scars.

She went on to explain that the Avengers star started talking to her over direct messages (DMs) on Instagram and WhatsApp in June 2025.

"I was discussing the doc logistics, then he drank a bottle of wine alone and got angrier and angrier, yelling for two hours," Zhou noted.

The director, who also appeared as an actress in Lost in Beijing, continued, "I had to lock myself in a room to be safe, praying he would not come into the room at night, as he was really angry. I did not say a word; I was so scared for my life."

In multiple Instagram posts, Zhou alleged that Renner threatened to contact immigration authorities when she confronted him over his actions.

"When I called him out privately about his past misconduct and asked him to behave properly, to respect me as a woman and as a filmmaker, he threatened to call immigration/ICE on me, an act that deeply shocked and frightened me," she stated.

In response to Zhou’s claims, a representative for Renner told Page Six, “The allegations being made are totally inaccurate and untrue.”

It is worth noting that in 2019, Jeremy Renner’s ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco, accused him of substance abuse and threatening behaviour.
