Princess Anne lands in Singapore to honour 60 years of alliance
Princess Anne carries out Royal duties in Singapore
Princess Anne has finally stepped foot in Singapore for a brief working trip, in honour of six decades of diplomatic relations between Britain and Singapore.
After a four-day visit to Australia, the 75-year-old Royal family member, who is also known as the Hardest working Royal, headed directly to Singapore for her next round of duties.
On Wednesday, November 12, King Charles’ sister, joined by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, began to undertake official duties to strengthen UK and Singapore relations.
Her brief stop in the country marks the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the countries, as per Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ignoring the difficult weather that posed potential disruptions to her plans, the Princess Royal confidently carried on with her with her packed itinerary.
Her first engagement there took place at Kranji War Cemetery, with Anne serving in her capacity as President of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
The Princess Royal, alongside Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, marked the site’s recent VJ Day events and paid respects to those who lost their lives in service.
After the commemorations, Anne and Sir Tim Laurence visited HMS Spey, the Royal Navy patrol vessel currently deployed in the region.
