King Charles ‘preparing to seize’ final royal inheritance from Andrew
Andrew likely to hand over Queen Elizabeth’s corgis to King Charles
King Charles is adamant on concluding the fate of Queen Elizabeth’s beloved corgis himself, as the pet dogs have been in the care of ex-Prince Andrew since their mother’s death in 2022.
Following the former Duke of York’s title removal and subsequent withdrawal from royal duties, the corgis which he and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson have been looking after since the Queen’s passing will reportedly return to the King.
Rob Shuter, a British journalist and gossip columnist, reported on his Substack blog that Charles “is preparing to seize Queen Elizabeth’s beloved corgis from (former) Prince Andrew — because he no longer believes his disgraced younger brother is capable of caring for them.”
The journalist further cited “shaken palace insiders” who have noted that the King has become “deeply unsettled” over the increasingly unsuitable environment at Royal Lodge, Andrew’s longtime residence, where the two corgis — Muick and Sandy — currently reside.
“The King is convinced the corgis need ‘a more stable home — and better judgment around them,’” added Shuter.
While another “bombshell” included by the blogger claimed that “senior courtiers” have reported that the late Queen “never intended” the ex-Duchess of York to become her precious pets’ “primary caretaker” in the first place.
“Her Majesty liked Fergie, but she was ferociously protective of those dogs. She would never have wanted them left solely with Sarah — and Charles knows that better than anyone,” a palace source revealed.
It has also been alleged that King Charles is considering formal means to retrieve the corgis from Andrew’s grasp as “part of the Crown’s living legacy”.
