Katy Perry's legal battle takes victorious turn
Katy Perry's legal battle over her Montecito mansion gets major update
Katy Perry's on-going legal battle filed against Carl Westcott takes a victorious turn after the judge seemingly rued in her favour.
It is to be noted here that the pop star, who is currently dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has been in a heated legal battle over her Montecito mansion in which she has sued the elderly disabled veteran, in which she demanded $5 million in damages.
Now, as reported by PEOPLE, Judge Joseph Lipner has awarded the 41-year-old singer nearly $2 million in damages.
The judge of the Superior Court of the State of California in Los Angeles County has concluded that the E.T. songstress is owed $1,842,142.84.
Moreover, the judge reduced the amount in repairs Perry asked for down to $259,581.84, a figure the 85-year-old disabled veteran had previously suggested himself.
Regarding the $15 million sale of mansion, the judge noted that Perry's business manager Bernie Gudvi paid Westcott $9 million for the purchase and kept $6 million of the purchase price.
According to the publication, Gudvi is now able to subtract $1.8 million from the leftover $6 million.
In addition, a follow-up hearing in which the judgement could be challenged has been set for December 30, 2025.
