Who holds maximum shares in Reliance Industries — the answer will surprise you
THIS family member owns maximum shares of Reliance Industries
Mukesh Ambani’s wealth is no secret, but the true power behind his empire is written in shareholding numbers. Here’s a closer look at who holds the biggest stake in India’s most powerful business empire.
Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, shares three children with his wife, Nita Ambani: Isha Ambani, 34, Akash Ambani, 34, and Anant Ambani, 30.
Following Mukesh and Nita, these family members are the primary shareholders of the company.
Although the offspring hold significant shares, they are not the biggest individual stakeholders.
As Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani are known as the faces of Reliance Industries, they still don’t hold the maximum stakes.
So, who holds the maximum shares in the company?
Things are parallel; the individual who has the most shareholding rights in the conglomerate is none other than Kokilaben Ambani, the matriarch of the Ambani family.
According to India.com, Kokilaben Ambani owns 1,57,41,322 equity shares, representing 0.24% of Reliance Industries, a stake larger than any of her children or grandchildren.
Categorically, Mukesh Ambani personally holds just 0.12% of the company, and when combined with Nita Ambani and their three children, their collective stake totals 80,52,021 shares.
In addition, Kokilaben’s holdings give her an estimated net worth of around ₹18,000 crore.
Even in retirement from active management, her presence as the family matriarch continues to hold symbolic and strategic weight, cementing her place at the heart of India’s most storied business dynasty.
