Prince William cheers on Aston Villa following his football club’s huge win
Prince William’s Aston Villa took on Arsenal in thrilling Premier League clash on December 6
Prince William had a big cause to celebrate on Saturday, December 6 after his favourite football club, Aston Villa, beat Premier League leaders Arsenal in a nail-biting thriller which ended two goals to one.
With the winner scored in stoppage time by Argentinian forward Emi Buendia, Villa moved up a few marks on the league’s table, currently nestled in the third spot.
William hailed Buendia’s efforts by proclaiming him as “man of the match” on his Instagram stories.
“An incredible game! UTV! W,” the future king signed off, sharing the club’s famous fan chant, “Up The Villa”.
Prince William has been a longtime supporter of the Birmingham-based club, often seen attending their games alongside his eldest, Prince George.
The royal father-of-three had previously shared that while he is “genuinely open” to his children supporting any club they prefer, he admitted to being “a bit biased” and said that since they have attended Aston Villa’s games with him, “they’re probably going to support Villa.”
