Prince Harry has once again sparked speculation among royal insiders regarding a potential return to the UK with Meghan Markle.

According to The Sun, the Duke of Sussex is reportedly “clearing path” for his wife and their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as he continues his efforts to secure tax-payer funded protection during his visits to the UK.

Harry's years-long legal battle for security in the UK recently saw a new development as the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) agreed to review threats against him and his family.

Royal experts believe that the Duke's renewed push for 24-hour armed police protection during visits with his family signals that he may soon be bringing Meghan and the children back to his home country.

Speaking on The Sun's Royal Exclusive Show, editor Matt Wilkinson asked, "Is it fair to say that we can add stubborn to the Duke of Sussex? Because he will not let this security issue go."

Jack Royston, Chief Royal Correspondent at Newsweek added, "And so if he’s now being assessed by the Risk Assessment/Bodyguard (R&B) again, does that suggest that he might be planning some kind of a move back to Britain or more time in Britain or some kind of return to some form of royal duty?”

While royal reporter Bronte Coy noted that the reassessment represents a “very dramatic U-turn in the whole situation where he is effectively getting what he wants,” adding that, “although we don’t know what the outcome of this assessment will be, it just feels like an extraordinary sort of new chapter in the whole saga."

Coy also highlighted the timing of the development, noting, "It comes at such an interesting time, where we’ve been watching so closely Harry’s moves towards reconciliation with his father, and the fact that they met up in September when he was over here.”

The report concluded by questioning, "Is something happening? Are we moving towards clearing the path for Harry to be more involved in the UK and the royal family?”

The review of Prince Harry’s security arrangements comes eight months after he lost a High Court case aimed at reinstating state-funded protection, hinting at a possible shift in how his future visits to the UK might be managed.
