King Charles III is set to publicly share his personal cancer journey for the first time.

The prerecorded segment will air as part of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer charity telethon, produced in partnership with Cancer Research UK, which will air on December 12 (today) at 8pm local time, per PEOPLE.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that the King recorded the message roughly two weeks ago at Highgrove House.

For the unversed, the cancer was detected in tests after a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate, the palace said in February 2024.

While the King has maintained official duties and regular meetings during his treatment, public appearances have been largely curtailed.

This broadcast will mark King’s first public revelation, in which he categorically addressed his health struggles and how he battled the life-threatening disease.

Moreover, royal analysts believe this as a courageous move by the King to openly address his disease or struggle and highlight the importance of early detection for the sake of awareness.

Broadcast also aims to share the current health update of the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton, who is also receiving cancer treatment.
