Gmail adds personalied AI Inbox, AI-powered search, and new writing tools
Google has introduced a redesigned AI-powered Inbox for Gmail
Google has introduced a redesigned artificial intelligence (AI)-powered Inbox for Gmail, aiming to help users stay on top of tasks and important updates more easily.
The new AI Inbox appears as an optional tab and is divided into two main sections: “Suggested to-dos” and “Topics to catch up on.”
The to-dos section highlights priority emails that require action, such as reminders about upcoming bill payments or requests to confirm personal details for medical prescriptions.
Meanwhile, the “Topics to catch up on” section summarises recent updates from emails, including order deliveries, refunds, and financial statements.
Alongside the new Inbox experience, the tech giant is also rolling out AI Overviews in Gmail search and a new “Proofread” writing tool, while expanding several AI features to all users at no extra cost.
These updates are automatically grouped into categories like purchases and finances, helping users quickly scan what has changed without opening individual messages.
According to the company, the goal is to make Gmail more proactive while keeping the traditional inbox fully intact. Users can switch between the classic view and the AI Inbox whenever they choose.
Currently, Google is rolling out the AI Inbox to a limited group of trusted testers, with a wider release planned over the coming months.
