The stark divide between the House of Windsor and the Duke of Sussex was on full display last week as the Prince and Princess of Wales enjoyed a spirited tour of Scotland.

Sliding across the ice at the National Curling Academy in Stirling, William and Kate appeared "relaxed and cheerful," fully focused on their roles as the future of the monarchy.

The couple met with Team GB athletes preparing for the Winter Olympics in Italy, even going head-to-head in a friendly curling match that saw Kate emerge victorious.

However, just 400 miles away in London, the atmosphere was far more sombre. Prince Harry was back in the UK to testify in his high-profile privacy trial against Associated Newspapers.

An emotional Duke was close to tears as he spoke of the "absolute misery" the press had allegedly inflicted upon his wife, Meghan.

Despite the brothers being closer geographically than they have been in months, royal author Robert Jobson observed that they remain "worlds apart."

Jobson noted: "William and Kate are the embodiment of the future of the monarchy, while Harry looks trapped in the past."

While the Prince of Wales focused on community engagements—including a stop at a traditional tartan-weaving charity and a pint at a community-run pub in Fallin—Harry remained locked in a legal crusade to reform the British media.

For William, the focus is now firmly on duty and building a legacy free from "yesterday’s battles." As Robert Jobson poignantly put it: "The divide is now absolute, and Harry's distance from his family isn't measured in miles anymore."
