A detective playing a vital role in Prince Harry's legal proceedings against the Daily Mail was labeled in the High Court as having delusional tendencies with an unhealthy preoccupation with Hugh Grant.

Dr. Evan Harris, a former leader of Hacked Off now working as a researcher for the plaintiffs, accused Christine Hart of this during Thursday's court session.

"Her obsession with Hugh Grant was a product of her imagination," Dr. Harris told the judge.

Hart is a notable figure in the lawsuits filed by seven prominent individuals, including the Duke of Sussex and Baroness Lawrence, against Associated Newspapers Limited.

A detective vital in Prince Harry's legal confrontation with the Daily Mail was described in the High Court as a "fantasist" with an unhealthy preoccupation with Hugh Grant.

The plaintiffs claim that about 50 articles were obtained through phone tapping, deceit, and other unlawful tactics.

Baroness Lawrence, mother of the murdered teen Stephen Lawrence, testified that Hart confessed to illegally acquiring her personal information for the newspaper.

"The detective admitted to taking my information for the Mail and deceiving me, the mother of 'that black boy,' for details," Lady Lawrence revealed in her testimony.

She informed the court that she discovered Hart's expertise was in "exploiting crime victims like me" to gain sensitive information through manipulation.

Hugh Grant is not among the seven notable figures pursuing the lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Limited.
