Catherine O’Hara, who hosted Saturday Night Live twice and had a very short stint as a cast member, was honored on NBC's late-night show this evening.

This came a day after the Emmy Award winner passed away at 71. A tribute card recalling O’Hara’s time on the show was displayed right before the end-of-show farewell, during the episode hosted by Alexander Skarsgård with musical guest Cardi B. See it below.

In 2024, O’Hara shared about being chosen as a cast member for the sixth season of SNL in the early 1980s.

Coming from the Canadian sketch comedy series SCTV, she was expected to be in her element.

However, O’Hara mentioned departing after only a week, without filming an episode, to rejoin her “[comedy] family” at SCTV.

Despite her quick exit, O’Hara was invited back to host twice: during SNL‘s 16th Season in April 1991 with musical guest R.E.M., and again in the 18th Season in October 1992 with musical guest 10,000 Maniacs.
