Elon Musk set to become world's first trillionaire in 2026
According to Forbes’ real-time billionaire list, Musk’s net worth is around $849.3bn
Elon Musk is on track to make history as the first-ever trillionaire, with projections suggesting he could reach the $1 trillion mark this year.
The SpaceX and Tesla CEO currently holds the title of the world’s richest person, surpassing rivals like Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg.
According to Forbes’ real-time billionaire list, as of February 2026, Musk’s net worth is estimated at approximately $849.3 billion.
According to Kalshi traders, the odds of Musk hitting $1 trillion in 2026 are 75%, up from previous estimates.
Projections indicate a 90% chance he will become a trillionaire before 2029 and an 86% chance before 2028.
Musk’s lead over other billionaires is immense. The second-richest person, Google co-founder Larry Page, has a net worth of $251 billion, followed by Sergey Brin at $231.7 billion. Together, they still fall far short of Musk’s fortune.
Musk’s wealth comes primarily from his technology ventures and electric vehicle (EV) empire, including SpaceX, Tesla, and his AI startup xAI.
Earlier this year, he became the first person to surpass $800 billion, making him wealthier than Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Zuckerberg combined.
With multiple high-profile projects in development, Musk’s financial ascent continues to capture global attention.
As he approaches this historic milestone, many are watching closely to see if he will indeed become the first trillionaire in modern history.
