‘Boy Meets World’ star Danielle Fishel plans sentimental surprise for William Daniels
Danielle Fishel says she wants to celebrate William Daniels with a deeply sentimental gift
Danielle Fishel is planning something meaningful to celebrate her former co-star William Daniels as he approaches a major milestone.
The beloved actor — best known for his role as Mr. Feeny on the iconic ‘90s sitcom Boy Meets World — is set to turn 99 on March 31. And for Fishel, the occasion calls for a deeply sentimental tribute.
Speaking exclusively to People, Fishel revealed she would love to gift Daniels something that honors his decades-long career in entertainment.
“I think the older you get, the more sentimental you get about things. And Bill has had such an incredible career,” she shared.
The actress suggested tracking down archival photos from Daniels’ earliest days in show business — including his time as a child performer and tap dancer.
“I’d love to go back and find maybe some pictures of some of his original jobs,” she said, adding that a framed photo featuring Daniels and his sister Jacqueline — with whom he once performed — would be especially meaningful.
Fishel, who played Topanga Lawrence on Boy Meets World, has long spoken about the lasting impact Daniels had on her both on and off screen.
Their bond was memorably reflected in the show’s finale, when her character delivered an emotional farewell to Mr. Feeny.
The connection carried into real life, including a heartfelt tribute during Fishel’s appearance on Dancing with the Stars last year, where Daniels joined her onstage in a moment that echoed his iconic role.
Beyond his time as Mr. Feeny, Daniels’ career spans decades, beginning in childhood and continuing into one of television’s most beloved mentor figures.
As he prepares to celebrate his 99th birthday, the actor remains cherished not only for his work, but for the enduring relationships he built along the way.
