Cruz Beckham hits back at critics over girlfriend Jackie Apostel’s age gap
The musician defends girlfriend Jackie Apostel amid renewed online criticism
Cruz Beckham has publicly clapped back at critics targeting the age difference between him and girlfriend Jackie Apostel, after the couple faced a wave of online trolling.
The 21-year-old musician, who made his relationship with Apostel, 30, Instagram official in October 2024 following their appearance at Glastonbury Festival, has largely kept things low-key despite ongoing commentary about their nine-year age gap.
However, the criticism resurfaced this weekend when Cruz shared a TikTok video of himself making pancakes for Apostel. Captioning the clip, “She wants crepe, she got em,” the post quickly drew attention — and unsolicited remarks.
One user mocked the couple’s age difference, commenting, “I love when a son cooks for his mum.”
Cruz did not hold back in his response. “u think VB is eating a Nutella crepe, no chance daley. (sic),” he replied, dismissing the jab with humor and defiance.
The exchange marks one of the rare occasions the young artist has directly addressed public criticism of his personal life.
The moment also comes shortly after Cruz debuted his song Loneliest Boy, widely speculated to reference his older brother Brooklyn Beckham and reported tensions within the Beckham family.
While the Beckham family has previously been linked to a public rift involving Brooklyn — who has allegedly accused his parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, of being controlling — Cruz appears focused on shutting down negativity and continuing his relationship on his own terms.
