NFL star Tom Brady surprises fans with ninja backyard upgrades

Tom Brady is keeping busy in retirement — this time as “Tom Upgrady.” 

The seven-time Super Bowl champion announced Monday that he’s teaming up with Ninja to upgrade fans’ backyards across the country.

“Introducing my new persona... Tom Upgrady,” Brady teased in an Instagram post, sharing a video in which he jokes, “Tom Brady quarterback? Good at football. Tom Upgrady? Good at backyards.”

The campaign, which launched this week, sees Brady surprising homeowners as Ninja delivers a variety of outdoor products to their backyards. 

Fans are then greeted via video call by Brady himself, who playfully interacts with them while unveiling their upgrades. “You got a big upgrade coming your way,” he told one lucky fan.

Throughout the summer, fans are encouraged to share photos of their outdoor spaces and tag @ninjakitchen with the hashtag #TomUpgrady. 

Brady added, “That’s it. I’ll handle the rest. I didn’t retire to sit on the sidelines. Let’s get to work.”

As a SharkNinja global brand ambassador, Brady emphasized how the campaign aligns with his philosophy of having the right tools for success, both on and off the field. 

“The backyard is one of my favorite places to slow down, grill some food, and enjoy time with family and friends,” he said.

The campaign kicked off in the greater Boston area, where Brady surprised several homeowners with Ninja products and transformed their outdoor spaces into fully upgraded backyard experiences.

“All season long, @ninjakitchen and I are upgrading backyards across the country and transforming them into something legendary. So who’s next?” Brady asked, promising more surprises for fans in the weeks ahead.
