Kanye West is speaking out as backlash intensifies over his scheduled headline performance at the Wireless Festival in London.

The 48-year-old rapper, also known as Ye, released a statement on Tuesday addressing growing calls for him to be barred from entering the United Kingdom due to his past antisemitic remarks.

“My only goal is to come to London and present a show of change, bringing unity, peace, and love through my music,” West said, signaling an attempt to shift the narrative surrounding his appearance.

He also expressed a willingness to engage directly with the Jewish community in the U.K., adding, “I would be grateful for the opportunity to meet with members of the Jewish community in the UK in person, to listen.”

Acknowledging that words alone may not be enough, the rapper continued, “I know words aren’t enough, I’ll have to show change through my actions. If you’re open, I’m here.”

West’s comments come amid reports that U.K. authorities are reviewing whether he should be allowed entry into the country, citing concerns tied to his previous controversial statements.

The artist has faced widespread criticism in recent years over antisemitic comments, which previously prompted public backlash and calls for accountability.

He later issued an apology, stating at the time that he is “not a Nazi” and does not hold antisemitic beliefs.

Despite his efforts to reframe the conversation, scrutiny around his planned Wireless Festival performance continues to build, with officials yet to confirm whether he will ultimately be permitted to take the stage.
