Timothy Simons reveals his kids prefer his co-stars over him 'they don’t care'
The actor admits his children are more excited to meet his co-stars than him
Timothy Simons is enjoying success on screen but at home, his teenage twins are far less impressed.
The Nobody Wants This actor, 47, opened up exclusively to People at the PaleyFest LA Celebrates Netflix’s Nobody Wants This event on April 8, revealing that his 14-year-old children with wife Annie Simons remain completely unfazed by his Hollywood fame.
“My kids are 14. I’m not f---ing cool,” Simons said candidly. “Like, nothing I do is cool right now. So it could be the biggest show in the world. They simply do not care.”
Despite his lack of “cool factor” at home, Simons said his kids are far more enthusiastic about his co-stars — including Adam Brody, Kristen Bell, Jackie Tohn, and Justine Lupe.
“They always, like whenever they get to see Justine and Jackie, Adam and Kristen, they're always excited to see them,” he said. “I've got to remind them that there's a fifth person in that ensemble. But no.”
Simons previously shared that while his children may not be impressed by his fame, they are fans of the show itself.
He told People in 2025 that Nobody Wants This had earned him some rare “credibility” at home, although mostly because his kids wanted to meet the cast.
“They want to meet everybody,” he said. “And I'm sort of like, ‘Yeah, guys, I'm on this show too,’ and they're like, ‘We don't care.’”
The Veep alum also revealed that his children have been more excited about his involvement in projects like Percy Jackson and the Olympians, especially because of their interest in the books. He said his kids were “over the moon” when cast members signed books he brought home.
Still, Simons joked that any goodwill from his teenagers is unpredictable.
“I don’t know how long those positive vibes are going to last,” he said. “There are a lot of emotions running around my house, and usually they’re directed at me.”
