'Scrubs' stars open up about iconic props they took home after filming
The cast revisited memories as 'Scrubs' continues its revival in 2026
Scrubs stars Zach Braff and Sarah Chalke are taking a nostalgic look back at the beloved series and revealing the keepsakes they couldn’t resist taking from set.
Speaking to People at the show’s season 10 panel during PaleyFest in Los Angeles, the longtime co-stars shared the memorable props they held onto following the original run of the hit medical comedy, which aired from 2001 to 2010.
Braff, who portrayed Dr. John “J.D.” Dorian, revealed he still owns a quirky piece from the show’s pilot episode, a pair of foam antlers used in one of J.D.’s fantasy sequences. “They look totally real,” he said, noting he has kept them for more than 25 years.
Chalke, who played Dr. Elliot Reid, admitted she had her eye on a more iconic item, Rowdy, J.D.’s stuffed dog, but wasn’t able to claim it.
“Rowdy was super under lock and key,” she joked, referring to the prop that became a recurring gag on the show.
Instead, Chalke held onto a simpler memento: her scrubs from the series.
The panel comes as Scrubs experiences a revival, returning to screens in 2026 with a continuation of the story, reuniting fans with familiar faces from the original cast, including Donald Faison, Judy Reyes, and John C. McGinley.
Reflecting on the passage of time, Braff recently shared his surprise at working alongside younger cast members who were either children or not yet born when the series first aired. The realization, he said, has been both amusing and surreal.
