- The actress will next star in the thriller Verity alongside Anne Hathaway.
- Materialists, her romantic comedy costarring Chris Evans, was released in June 2025.
Dakota Johnson made a captivating appearance at the 2026 TIME100 Gala in New York City on Thursday. Moving away from her frequently discussed "naked dress" aesthetic, the actress arrived at Jazz at Lincoln Centre in a dramatic, fresh-off-the-runway creation by Valentino.
The gown, part of the Fall/Winter 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection, featured a cream, Grecian-inspired silhouette with delicate straps and a structured bodice.
The focal point of the ensemble was a sweeping, floor-length matching cape that was elegantly clasped beneath a neckline adorned with ornate sequined feathers.
Stylist Kate Young completed the look with diamond drop earrings by Roberto Coin and a surprising pair of "gothic" black leather mules featuring crystal-coated snakes.
The evening's fashion narrative saw several other high-profile attendees embracing the cape trend, with stars such as Hilary Duff and Kate Hudson also sporting the regal silhouette.
Following her appearance at the gala, Johnson remains focused on a busy professional schedule. She is currently in post-production for the gothic psychosexual thriller Verity, based on the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover.
Scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on 2 October 2026, the film features an ensemble cast including Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett.
This latest public outing follows the successful launch of her romantic comedy Materialists, directed by Celine Song, which hit cinemas on 13 June 2025.
In that project, she starred alongside Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal as a professional matchmaker caught in a complex love triangle.
Johnson continues to balance her acting career with her work at her production company, TeaTime Pictures, as she moves into the next phase of her evolving career.
