Kate Hudson shared that she took a pause after the awards season.

According to PEOPLE, the 47-year-old actress explained that although the buzz around her Best Actress Oscar nod for Song Sung Blue was "a blast," she decided to take a break following the Academy Awards in March to relax.

"I spent spring break with my kids and simply unplugged," she stated at the premiere of Netflix's Running Point season 2 in Hollywood, California.

Hudson is the mother of three children: her sons Ryder Russell, 22, and Bingham Hawn, 14, along with daughter Rani Rose, 7.

Hudson earned a Best Actress nomination for portraying Claire "Thunder" Sardinia in Song Sung Blue, a movie about a Neil Diamond tribute band, “Lightning & Thunder.” She co-starred with Hugh Jackman, who played Mike "Lightning" Sardinia.

Hudson expressed her gratitude for the connections made during awards season with her fellow nominees, which included Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), Emma Stone (Bugonia), and Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), who won the Oscar.

"Reflecting back, I'm so fortunate to have had that experience. I cherished the camaraderie. Everyone on that journey was incredible, vibrant, united, and I just adored every bit of it," shared the Almost Famous star.

Hudson's role as Isla Gordon in Running Point has also led to closer bonds for the actress, including with executive producer Jeanie Buss.

Buss serves as the Los Angeles Lakers' CEO, and her life story is the real-life inspiration behind Hudson's character in the show.

The duo's friendship spans many years, and Hudson appeared opposite Buss’ husband, Jay Mohr, in the film 200 Cigarettes.

Hudson reflected on how their connection has grown over time.

"It's not only beautiful, but I recognize how we've both evolved," Hudson noted. "She always looked out for me. She kind of embraced me and ensured I stayed out of trouble. To reconnect at this point in our lives and share this moment together has been incredibly rewarding and comforting, if that's the right word."
