A woman from Hudson Falls, New York, faces a potential life sentence after being found guilty of raping and abusing her boyfriend's 11-month-old daughter.

Jamilee Hunt, 38, was convicted on multiple felony counts, including rape of a child under 13, felonious assault, and child endangerment.

The verdict was announced by Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich on Friday, following a trial in Ohio. The baby's father, Jason Santos, 38, previously pleaded guilty to similar charges and has already received a life sentence.

The convictions arise from a harrowing incident in November 2024 at a Red Roof Inn in Springfield Township. Emergency services responded to a call regarding an unresponsive infant, where Hunt initially identified herself as "Nicole Abare."

Officers performing lifesaving measures discovered extensive bruising and signs of severe physical trauma. Medical evaluations at Akron Children’s Hospital later revealed multiple rib, arm, and leg fractures in various stages of healing, alongside a traumatic brain injury and evidence of sexual assault.

The defendants initially claimed the injuries were caused by a dog jumping on the child, an explanation doctors deemed impossible given the medical findings.

Prosecutor Kolkovich stated that Hunt "failed" as a guardian and protector, expressing his disturbance at her "inability to take responsibility for her role in the abuse and torture of this infant."

Hunt is scheduled to be sentenced on May 6. Following the father's sentencing, it was confirmed that the child survived and is now recovering with a new guardian, far removed from the defendants’ past history.
