The long-awaited television wedding between Nate, played by Jacob Elordi, and Cassie, portrayed by Sydney Sweeney, has reached a gruesome conclusion in the latest episode of "Euphoria".
The wedding night ended in blood and violence as Nate was brutally beaten and maimed by a new Season 3 antagonist.
Jack Topalian, who plays the shady businessman Naz, revealed to Page Six that his character took "great pleasure" in cutting off Nate's toe after the protagonist failed to settle a debt exceeding half a million dollars.
During the intense sequence, Nate is shown suffering a panic attack before the ceremony while ignoring phone calls from Naz.
The tension peaked when Naz crashed the reception, and later waited inside the couple's mansion. Topalian described the technical challenges of the scene, noting that while they used a "prosthetic" toe for Elordi, the clippers provided were "pretty sharp."
He explained: "I had to be really mindful of that, because at one point, I do put it around Jake’s toe." If he had squeezed too hard, he feared he would "literally cut" the actor.
The physical assault was executed by a henchman played by former Super Bowl champion Matt Willig, who dragged Elordi across a grand staircase and smashed his face into the walls.
Despite the "dirty work" on screen, Topalian praised Elordi's professionalism and commitment to his own stunts.
"Jacob did a lot of his own stunts," Topalian told Page Six, adding that between takes, the atmosphere remained light with the "giving" and "prepared" lead actor cracking jokes.
