Megan Thee Stallion has confirmed she will depart from the Broadway production of "Moulin Rouge! The Musical" significantly earlier than originally anticipated.
The acclaimed rapper, who has been portraying the character Zidler since Friday, was scheduled to remain with the production until 17 May.
However, she announced via her Instagram account, that her final performance will now take place on 1 May.
This decision follows a deeply emotional period for the artist. During her performance on Saturday night, she was visibly moved to tears as the audience provided a standing ovation.
This public display of emotion coincided with her announcement regarding a "nasty split" from NBA star Klay Thompson.
In a scathing Instagram Story, she accused the athlete of infidelity, stating, "Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet.’"
She further alleged she endured "HORRIBLE mood swings" during his basketball season before he questioned if he could be "monogamous."
In a formal statement to Page Six, the musician clarified her stance on the separation. "I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward," she stated.
Despite the personal turmoil, she expressed immense gratitude for her colleagues, noting, "It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family."
This departure follows a previous health scare in late March, which the "Body" rapper described as a "wake-up call" regarding her physical limits.
