  • George Clooney finds watching his younger movie roles an unsettling experience.
  • The actor enjoys watching "Fantastic Mr Fox" with his eight-year-old twins.
  • Son Alexander remains unconvinced by Clooney's past as the Caped Crusader.

George Clooney has confessed that as he grows older, it has become "weird" and increasingly "hard" to watch his younger self on the silver screen.

Speaking to "People" at the 51st Chaplin Award Gala, where he was recently honoured for his illustrious career, the 64-year-old actor admitted that revisiting his past work can be a jarring experience.

"As you get older, it's hard to watch movies when you were younger because you're like, h-------, that doesn't even look like me anymore," the Oscar winner remarked, highlighting the disconnect he feels with his former image.

Despite his reservations about watching his own face age on screen, Clooney has found a way to share his cinematic legacy with his eight-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander.

He revealed that 2009’s "Fantastic Mr Fox" is a staple in the Clooney household, primarily because it is easier to watch an animated character than his younger self.

The doting father, who shares the twins with his wife, Amal Clooney, noted that it is "kind of fun" to see his children slowly piece together what he actually does for a living.

In a humorous reflection on his filmography, Clooney recalled showing his 1997 film, "Batman & Robin," to his son, Alexander.

Despite the actor's efforts to prove he once donned the iconic cowl, the youngster remained hilariously sceptical. "I always say to him, 'You know I was Batman.' He's always like, 'No,'" Clooney shared.

The actor, who previously transitioned from television stardom to film icon, continues to balance his high-profile career with a grounded family life. He recently completed filming on a new thriller alongside longtime collaborator Brad Pitt.
