Prince William and Kate Middleton settle into Forest Lodge as forever home
Prince William and his family are reportedly enjoying their new life at Forest Lodge
The Prince and Princess of Wales have officially settled into their new residence, Forest Lodge, a move that royal commentators suggest is the perfect long-term fit for the family.
Having recently relocated to the Grade II-listed Georgian mansion within Windsor Great Park, the couple and their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—are said to be thoroughly enjoying the transition.
Royal biographer and broadcaster Katie Nicholl noted that the move "feels like the perfect fit for them," highlighting the property's balance of privacy and practicality.
The transition from the smaller Adelaide Cottage to the eight-bedroom Forest Lodge marks a significant chapter for the family following a challenging period.
"The Palace seem to be making it clear that this is where they’re going to base themselves for the coming years," Nicholl explained, pointing out that the location is "conveniently close to Windsor, and close enough to London for when they need to be there for work."
Additionally, the property’s proximity to Kate’s parents provides essential support for their daily lives. Describing the likely atmosphere within the new home, Nicholl envisioned a relaxed, domestic setting.
"We can just imagine that Forest Lodge will be a home with muddy boots outside, dogs and kids running in and out of the garden, something lovely cooking on the stove," she remarked.
This move follows a record-breaking year for the Prince's environmental initiatives, while the Princess continues her steady return to public duties, with both prioritising a stable environment for their children’s education and upbringing.
