Hisense has sharply reduced the launch price of its flagship UR9 RGB LED television, intensifying competition in the premium TV market as brands race to make next-generation display technology more accessible.

The company’s first RGB LED TV of 2026 is now priced at $1,999 for the 65-inch model, $2,999 for the 75-inch version and $3,999 for the 85-inch set — a significant drop from its original launch pricing, which had placed the smallest model at $3,500.

The move comes shortly after Samsung unveiled pricing for its rival R95H RGB LED television, which undercut Hisense’s original tag by roughly $300.

Industry observers say Hisense’s steep discount appears aimed at quickly regaining a competitive edge in the emerging RGB LED segment.

RGB LED televisions, which use separate red, green and blue backlighting to deliver higher brightness and more vivid color reproduction, are being positioned as the next challenger to premium OLED screens.

However, OLED sets such as flagship offerings from LG and Samsung have continued to dominate high-end buyer preference due to their superior contrast and black levels.

Hisense and Samsung are currently the only major manufacturers offering RGB LED models in a 65-inch size, while competitors including LG Electronics and TCL begin at larger and more expensive screen options.

The UR9’s aggressive repricing signals how quickly TV makers are escalating their battle for early leadership in RGB LED technology, with manufacturers increasingly willing to sacrifice margins to win over premium home entertainment buyers.
