'Strictly’s Neil Jones to marry 'Love Island’s Chyna Mills amid family racism row
Neil Jones and his Love Island fiancée Chyna Mills are getting married this month
Neil Jones is preparing to walk down the aisle with his Love Island sweetheart, Chyna Mills, this month, three years after their proposal.
This follows the couple being caught in a family conflict, with Chyna and Neil’s mother, Helen, in a dispute after the reality TV personality accused her of racism.
Chyna shared their upcoming wedding plans on social media on Tuesday, revealing they will become husband and wife in just a few short weeks.
Capturing her moment in the car, Chyna stated, “I just filed notice.”
She humorously added, “Damson Idris, if you’ve got anything to say, do it now or remain quiet, as I’ll soon be a married woman. Let me know.”
Legally, you must provide notice of marriage at least 29 days before your wedding, with Chyna confirming their nuptials will take place in mid-May.
She became engaged to Strictly dancer Neil after he proposed in 2023 during a Bali getaway, with their relationship beginning just a year earlier.
Nonetheless, it remains uncertain if the wedding will be a family event, given Chyna’s ongoing tensions with Neil’s relatives.
She had publicly spoken out on Instagram last year when some of his family made unwelcome remarks under photos from Havana’s christening.
Using Instagram, Chyna accused Helen of “bullying, racism, and disrespect,” adding that, “Havana’s christening was meaningful, and his family chose not to attend, standing by her [Helen].”
“They avoided addressing the issues from the past two years.”
A source told The Sun earlier, “This conflict started long before the christening.”
Despite Neil’s numerous attempts to resolve matters and find explanations, he and Chyna still don't understand why certain family members have not warmed up to Chyna.
“This situation has resulted in their absence from Havana’s life.”
“Chyna felt compelled to defend herself after seeing negative comments from Neil’s family and friends.”
“Both she and Neil found it distressing to witness personal matters being aired publicly.”
However, Neil’s family, through his sister Terri Peters, have refuted Chyna’s claims.
She conveyed to the Daily Mail, “I prefer not to comment right now. If she wants to spread falsehoods, then eventually, the truth will surface.”
The duo welcomed their daughter, Havana, in 2023 after getting engaged in Bali.
