Emmy-winning actor exposes challenging Hollywood stars
William H. Macy shares insights on the most challenging Hollywood stars
Emmy-winning actor William H. Macy has unveiled the Hollywood stars he finds most challenging to work with, from his perspective.
The 76-year-old artist has been in the acting business for over 45 years, collaborating with numerous prominent figures in the Hollywood industry during his journey.
He joined the We Might Be Drunk podcast alongside hosts Mark Normand and Sam Morril, where they tried to extract some celebrity stories from him.
Mark inquired, “We must ask, which actors are you not fond of?,” subsequently naming some well-known personalities, including Tommy Lee Jones, whom he acted with in the 1994 movie, The Client.
William responded, “He was a tough one,” adding, “I’m not sharing any lesser-known facts.”
The hosts then questioned him about Jim Carrey, to which he stated, “I haven’t worked with him, but from what I hear, he can be quite difficult.”
“You realise, there are numerous actors out there who irritate me because they cause difficulties for many and face no consequences, and it frustrates me.”
William commenced his career on the theater stage, gradually advancing through roles in small, independent films.
His breakthrough came with the black comedy crime film Fargo in 1996, earning him high praises and a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Throughout his career, he appeared in major Hollywood productions such as Psycho, Jurassic Park 3, Spartan, and The Lincoln Lawyer.
On television, William is renowned for his portrayals of Dr. David Morgenstern on ER for 15 years and Frank Gallagher on the US Shameless for 10 years.
He has clinched two Emmy Awards and four Screen Actors Guild Awards, while also being nominated for an Academy Award, a Drama Critics’ Circle Award, and five Golden Globe Awards.
In 1997, the Hollywood veteran married actress Felicity Huffman after a tumultuous 15-year dating period.
The couple welcomed two daughters, Sophia Grace and Georgia Grace, into their family.
Felicity faced jail time in 2019 for 14 days due to her involvement in the college admissions scandal.
She acknowledged paying $15,000 (£12,000) to fraudulently enhance her daughter’s SAT scores, sincerely apologising to her daughter for the lack of faith in her capabilities.
