Bangkok-based production company Film Frame Productions is rolling out international sales for The Resident, an upcoming horror movie by Thai Fighters co-director Chaiwat Sitalasai, here in Cannes.

‘Pie’ Rinrada Kaewbuasai and Toomtam Yuttana feature in the film, which is currently undergoing post-production, with plans for a cinema release in the last quarter of 2026.

The narrative centres on a young woman training as a carer who inadvertently reveals to her debt-laden boyfriend about a wealthy patient residing in an enormous mansion.

Her boyfriend and a friend devise a plan to burgle the house, only to find unexpected surprises awaiting them inside.

Chaiwat previously helmed horror film Night Shift, also scheduled for release this year, and collaborated with Tawatchai Ladloy on the martial arts action film Thai Fighters. Both movies were produced or co-produced by Film Frame Productions.

Night Shift features Chatchai Chinnasri and Nattawut Sanyabut, who appeared in the horror comedy The Undertaker, Thailand’s top-grossing local film of 2023.

Debuting in Thailand in March, Thai Fighters was recently picked up by 3388 Films for release across North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia, and Japan.

Established by Pakin Maliwan in 2004, Film Frame has produced approximately ten films and serves as a production services provider for American and Asian movies filmed in Thailand.

The firm also co-produced the video game adaptation Home Sweet Home: Rebirth with the US-based Altit Media Group.

Film Frame also handles the distribution of Thai and international films in Thailand, which recently included the Malaysian movies Blood Brothers and Ejen Ali The Movie 2.
