Cursor, the AI-driven coding startup that recently secured a significant SpaceX agreement, is preparing for a substantial hiring initiative in the Asia-Pacific.

Over the coming six months, the firm aims to hire 200 professionals across Singapore, Japan, Sydney, Melbourne, and India, as Nick Miller, a field engineer at the company, informed Business Insider.

Based in San Francisco, the company is primarily seeking staff for roles essential to providing its product to clients: market-entry positions, field technical personnel, and AI deployment specialists.

In July, Cursor will introduce a London branch, with additional smaller offices planned for European cities, Miller said.

Simon Green, a veteran APAC tech executive, most recently with Palo Alto Networks, launched Cursor's Singapore office this month. The firm's next recruitment in Singapore will be a recruiter, Miller mentioned, noting that candidates will also undergo interviews with the US team.

The company's website features approximately 90 vacant positions across Australia, New York, Berlin, London, and the Netherlands.

Cursor employs around 800 staff members in San Francisco and New York.

In late April, Elon Musk's SpaceX announced a collaboration with Cursor, granting it the option to acquire the AI coding company for $60 billion or spend $10 billion for its contributions if not purchased.

“Thrilled to collaborate with the SpaceX team to expand Composer. A significant milestone towards establishing the optimal environment for AI-assisted coding," proclaimed Cursor's co-founder and CEO, Michael Truell.

Some of Cursor's notable clients include Stripe, Coinbase, Discord, Salesforce, Neuralink, and Nvidia.

Nvidia, an investor in Cursor's parent entity, employs the platform within its engineering and chip design divisions, CEO Jensen Huang disclosed in October.

“Our engineers now all have AI support,” he stated. “The improvement in our productivity and the quality of our work has been remarkable.”
