Kit Keenan says she draws inspiration from her mother, fashion designer Cynthia Rowley, but insists the two ultimately have very different approaches to style, both in fashion and in life.

The 26-year-old social media personality spoke with People at the Food Bank For New York City’s 2026 Gotham Ball on May 14 in New York City, where she reflected on her relationship with her mother’s creative world and her own evolving personal aesthetic.

“I’m inspired by her, but I feel like we’re very different,” Keenan said. “She has more of an eclectic, I would say youthful style. She loves wearing fun prints and sheer and bedazzled things. So sometimes I love to mix that stuff in, but I also love vintage styles.”

While she stepped out in an off-the-shoulder gown for the event, Keenan noted that her everyday fashion leans more understated.

“Most of the time I’m more covered up, comfortable, and I think it’s just whatever makes you feel the most confident,” she added.

Despite their differences, Keenan remains closely connected to her mother’s fashion world.

She frequently shares behind-the-scenes glimpses of Rowley’s design studio on social media and has even taken part in her runway shows.

In September 2025, Keenan walked in her mother’s fashion show wearing a striking dress covered in what she later described as engagement rings, a moment she joked may have carried a subtle message.

“I think my mom was trying to send a message to my boyfriend with this dress because it’s covered in engagement rings,” she said in a past interview. “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, that’s why I’m wearing this.”

Beyond fashion, Keenan has been focusing on her growing career in food and lifestyle content.

The “Bachelor” alum and founder of KIT recently released her cookbook In Good Taste, which she described as a deeply personal project.

“I have poured my whole heart and soul into this book,” she said.

“There are so many family recipes, so much nostalgia, and it’s been two years in the making. I’m just so happy to put it out there and get more people in the kitchen.”
