Prince William has personally invited Heart Breakfast's Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston to join him in the Isles of Scilly this Friday.

The Prince of Wales is set to visit the islands off Cornwall's coast to officially open a new section at St Mary's Hospital.

In his invitation, the Prince remarked: "Hello Jamie and Amanda, I'll be travelling to the Isles of Scilly near Cornwall on Friday to witness some incredible community work.

"I'll also be cutting the ribbon on the new wing of the hospital in St Mary's, which promises to be an exciting event.

"Amanda, I'm aware of your affection for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, so having you both there would be wonderful."

This healthcare facility is part of a community-led initiative with support from the Duchy of Cornwall, aimed at enhancing medical services on the islands.

The project integrates NHS services with social care, establishing what organisers describe as a more durable and resourceful health system for residents in these isolated areas.

A primary goal is to allow island residents to receive treatment locally, eliminating the need to travel to the mainland.

This strategy helps patients access care while staying close to family and friends, as part of larger efforts to boost the Isles of Scilly's community strength.

Friday's broadcast will be a landmark moment, with Heart being the first national radio station to broadcast live from the Isles of Scilly.

The Prince of Wales will join the show to chat about the healthcare project supported by the Duchy and other island community projects.

Richard Steel, Heart's Managing Editor, stated: "We feel incredibly honoured to host the first national radio broadcast live from the Isles of Scilly.

"It's a milestone for Heart to welcome The Prince of Wales on air for the first occasion, and we're excited to share this special event with our listeners as Prince William officially unveils the new Isles of Scilly Hospital facility."

The programme will be accessible via Global Player and YouTube, as well as through Heart's national network.

Steel expressed excitement about the event, saying: "We're eager to spread the good vibes from the Isles!"
