  • Caitlin Clark now ranks second in basketball jersey sales behind only Stephen Curry, according to Fanatics data
  • She has overtaken LeBron James and Luka Dončić despite being in the WNBA for just over a year
  • Clark became the NCAA's Division I all-time leading scorer in March 2024, finishing with 3,951 career points

Caitlin Clark continues to rewrite the record books, this time off the court.

The Indiana Fever star, 24, has officially overtaken LeBron James in basketball jersey sales and now ranks second to only one player across the entire sport: Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry.

Clark's jersey sales surpass those of both James — the Los Angeles Lakers superstar — and his teammate Luka Dončić, who rank third and fourth, respectively, in an infographic shared by Boardroom and Bleacher Report on Wednesday, both citing Fanatics. San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama rounds out the top five.

A remarkable rise since 2024

The list covers jersey sales from 2024 onwards — the year Clark entered professional basketball. She was selected by the Fever from the University of Iowa as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

The achievement is particularly striking given the longevity of the NBA veterans she has overtaken. Curry was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 2009, whilst James was the first overall pick in 2003, selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

A record-breaking career from college to the pros

Clark's rise to prominence began well before she turned professional. In March 2024, she became the NCAA's Division I all-time leading scorer, ending her collegiate career at the University of Iowa with 3,951 points.

Since making the step up to the WNBA, she has continued to make history. During her debut season, she broke the rookie assist record, became the first rookie to achieve a triple-double, and set both the league's single-season and single-game assist records.

Off the court, she signed an eight-year endorsement deal with Nike worth a reported $28 million in April 2024 — considered the richest sponsorship contract ever awarded to a women's basketball player. In August 2025, she became the sportswear brand's newest signature athlete.

Following her historic rookie season, Clark was named Time's Athlete of the Year.

"You feel powerful," she told the publication, reflecting on her impact on the sport. "Instantly, everybody goes crazy. People are invested in the game, they love the game, and that's what makes it so fun for me. These people aren't supporting women's sports to check a box. It's going to be the new normal."
